Inhabited locality in Monte parish with a chapel of Nossa Senhora do Desterro founded in 1625.
An inhabited locality (sítio) in the parish (freguesia) of Monte (‘hill’), where there is a chapel dedicated to Our Lady of the Flight into Egypt (Nossa Senhora do Desterro). It was founded in 1625 by Canon Jorge Furtado de Sousa and recently restored by Dr Juvenal de Araújo, its present owner.
