Main article Marmeleiros Hospital The Hospital dos Marmeleiros was the Funchal Misericórdia's Santa Isabel hospital, which moved in 1930–31 into the unfinished 'Sanatório dos Pobres' building at Marmeleiros, in Monte parish. The building had been begun in 1905 under the Hohenlohe sanatorium concession and was enlarged in 1940.
