Locality in Monte parish containing the parish church, where Emperor Charles of Austria is buried, and the chapel of Nossa Senhora da Conceição.
In this locality (sítio) of the parish (freguesia) of Nossa Senhora do Monte (‘Our Lady of the Mount’) stand the parish church dedicated to this patron saint, where Emperor Charles of Austria lies buried – he died at the quinta (country estate) of Monte on 1 April 1922 – and the chapel of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception (Nossa Senhora da Conceição), founded a few years ago by Captain José Sotero da Silva and today the property of José de Freitas Belmonte.
