Inhabited locality in Ribeira Brava parish, named after a former chapel of Nossa Senhora da Apresentação attached to the manor of an entail founded in 1524.

An inhabited locality (sítio) in the parish (freguesia) of Ribeira Brava (‘wild river’). It took its name from the chapel of Our Lady of the Presentation (Nossa Senhora da Apresentação) that once stood here. Attached to it was a large manor house, the seat of the entailed estate (morgadio) founded in 1524 by João Mendes de Brito and his wife Isabel Fernandes Tavares, whose last representative was the Viscount of Ribeira Brava.
