A bibliographical list of the almanacs published in Madeira from 1867 to the late 1930s, with their dates, page counts and editors, including one Azorean almanac covering Madeira.
We are aware of the following almanacs having been published in Madeira:
- Almanak para a Ilha da Madeira. Primeiro anno, 1868, Funchal, 1867, XXXII + 96 pp., compiled and published by Dr Álvaro Rodrigues de Azevedo, although the almanac makes no mention of this

- Almanack madeirense para o anno de 1883 . . ., compiled by A. César de Morais, Funchal, 1882, 174 pp.

- In 1873 the Almanach para os Açores e Madeira, para o anno de 1874, 1st year, was published in the city of Angra do Heroísmo, edited by A. Gil, Augusto Ribeiro and F. J. Moniz Betencourt, 254 pp.; it contains some historical information on the Madeiran archipelago. The 2nd year, for 1875, was also published.

Portugal. Azorean city where the Almanach para os Açores e Madeira was published in 1873.
Angra do Heroísmo is an Azorean city, port and district on Terceira. It was the birthplace of António Cordeiro, where the Almanach para os Açores e Madeira was published in 1873, and where Nicolau Anastácio de Bettencourt governed for twelve years and died; it also gave its name to Stuart's title of marquis.
- Funchal
Place of publication of most of the almanacs listed.
The capital of the archipelago and seat of the principal captaincy, where settlement began; it was made a vila c.1451–52. Its bay, the widest in the archipelago, lies between Ponta do Garajau and Ponta da Cruz and offers sheltered anchorage, though its harbour had never been studied oceanographically. The Elucidário discusses it as a health resort with climate data and records the January 1906 disturbances, the Danish prince's visit in May 1846 and recent volcanic cones in the area.
