Francisco Bento de Gouveia (b. 1874) was a Madeiran industrial experimenter who made paper from sugar-cane straw, silica from local trachytes and a table wine from the Jacquez grape. He was the first director of the Diário da Madeira, founded in 1912, and co-author of the Guia Panorâmico da Madeira.
