The annual ecclesiastical calendar of the diocese of Funchal, guiding clergy in the office, Mass and feasts; printed in Coimbra, with the earliest known copy from 1858.

There is an annual ecclesiastical calendar specific to this diocese, intended to guide priests in reciting the divine office and celebrating Mass, to indicate the feasts, etc. It has been printed in Coimbra for many years. The compiler of the liturgical calendar for this diocese was Dr António Rodrigues Porfírio Ribeiro de Vasconcelos, a distinguished professor of theology at the University of Coimbra (Universidade de Coimbra). The oldest printed almanac of this diocese known to us dates from 1858. Since 1927 the Almanach Ecclesiasticum (‘Church Almanac’) has been edited by Father José Augusto Rodrigues Amado.
