Sacred Heart (chapel)
Original title: Sagrado Coração de Jesus(Capela do)
Two chapels dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus: one at Cardais, Água de Pena (1907), and one in Monte.
In the locality (sítio) of Cardais (‘thistle patches’), in the parish (freguesia) of Água de Pena, Canon Henrique Modesto de Bettencourt had a chapel dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus built in 1907 on land he owned there.
A few years ago a chapel of this dedication was also founded in the parish of Monte (‘hill’) by Father Jorge de Faria e Castro.
