Place street/square Sé Funchal
Rua da Carreira, officially Rua do Dr. Vieira, is one of Funchal's oldest streets, a boundary of Sé parish, named after horse races once run there and the widest street of the town in 1508. It was home to noble families, chapels and the British cemetery, and housed the police building from 1934.
