An inhabited locality in the parish (freguesia) of Santo António (‘St Anthony’), Funchal, where there is a chapel dedicated to Our Lady of Prayers (Nossa Senhora das Preces). It was built in 1768, and in 1770 its administrator, and perhaps its founder, was Captain Rodrigo da Costa. It was rebuilt in 1856 by its owner, Dona Joana de Albuquerque e França.
