Rua das Hortas, earlier called Rua do Ribeirinho, is a street in Santa Luzia parish, Funchal, forming part of the parish boundary; it was renamed Rua do Alferes Veiga Pestana in 1919 after an ensign killed in France in 1918. The Asilo dos Velhinhos moved there, and the Escola Industrial António Augusto de Aguiar occupied a building there from 1938.
