Distinguished Madeiran councillor, author of the Obras cited as a source, and son-in-law of the Marquis of Cezimbra. He was the last representative of the Ornelas entails, including Consolação at Quinta, Caniço, and Vale da Bica. In 1927 he erected the Sacred Heart statue on his Caniço property at Cabo Garajau.
