São Bartolomeu (stream and landing place)

Original title: São Bartolomeu (Ribeira e Porto de)

Stream rising on Paul da Serra dividing Calheta and Estreito da Calheta parishes, with a small landing place at its mouth.

Map: Madeira (7)

The stream of this name rises on the plateau of the Paul da Serra (‘upland marsh’) and forms the boundary between the parishes of Calheta (‘small cove’) and Estreito da Calheta (‘the narrows of Calheta’) before flowing into the ocean. At its mouth there is an insignificant landing place, known as Porto da Ribeira (‘stream harbour’), not far from Ponta da Galé (‘galley point’).
