The hake, a gadoid fish rarely seen in the Funchal market, of delicate flavour and caught at depths of 200 to 400 fathoms.
A gadoid fish that appears only rarely in the Funchal market. It has a delicate flavour and is caught on the gorazeira (deep-water longline for sea bream) or the cherriola (vertical multi-hook deep-water line), at depths of 200 to 400 braças.
