Chapel dedicated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary at Fajã do Penedo, Boaventura, built from 1918 and blessed in 1919.
In 1918 construction began on a chapel with this dedication in the locality (sítio) of Fajã do Penedo (‘boulder flat’), in the parish (freguesia) of Boaventura (‘good fortune’), thanks to the initiative and persevering efforts of Dona Maria Margarida dos Anjos Ribeiro, who lives in the same locality. It was solemnly blessed, with remarkable splendour, on 23 August 1919 by the diocesan prelate Dom António Manuel Pereira Ribeiro.
