Porto do Moniz quay

Original title: Cais do Porto do Moniz

The Porto Moniz quay built by the Junta Geral in 1916, replacing a natural landing and a passenger ladder.

Map: Madeira (2)

It was built by the District General Council (Junta Geral) in 1916. Before that, Porto Moniz (‘Moniz’s harbour’) had a natural landing place, and later a ladder, built on the orders of the same body, for passengers to embark and disembark at high tide.

Chronology
