Coriander (Coriandrum sativum) / Coentro (Coriandrum sativum)

An annual umbelliferous plant, widely cultivated in Madeiran gardens. It is native to the East, has pinnately dissected leaves, the lower ones less indented than the upper ones, and umbels with short peduncles, devoid or almost devoid of involucre. Its semi-globose fruits are stimulating and carminative and are used in culinary art.
