Administrative tribunal
Original title: Tribunal Administrativo
Administrative tribunals created by the 1886 code to replace district councils and abolished in 1892; the entry also covers Tribunal Secreto, a clandestine Funchal periodical of the 1840s.
The Administrative Tribunals were created by the code of 1886 and abolished by the decree of 21 April 1892. They replaced the District Councils, and each of these tribunals consisted of three magistrates appointed by government decree. Tribunal Secreto. This was the name of a Funchal periodical that was published clandestinely and had no fixed day of distribution. Twelve issues are known, all from 1844, but it seems to have first appeared in 1841.
