Prego do Mar (islet)

Original title: Prego do Mar (Ilhéu do)

A rock stack about 40 metres high north of Ilhéu Chão in the Desertas, also called Farilhão or Ilhéu do Navio because from afar it resembles a sailing ship.

It is also known as Ilhéu do Furilhão, or more correctly Farilhão (‘sea stack’), and as Ilhéu do Navio (‘ship islet’). It lies north of Ilhéu Chão (‘flat islet’), in the Desertas (‘deserted islands’). It is a rock about 40 metres high and 8 in perimeter which, from a distance, resembles a ship under sail; hence the name Ilhéu do Navio.
