Penha de Águia

Original title: Penha de Aguia

A truncated-pyramid coastal eminence between Porto da Cruz and Faial on Madeira's north coast, 580 m high and cultivated on top.

Map: Madeira (3)

An eminence shaped like a truncated pyramid, rising at the sea’s edge between Porto da Cruz (‘harbour of the cross’) and Faial, on the north coast of Madeira. It is cultivated on top, and its highest point stands 580 metres above sea level. It can be reached only from the landward side, and the footpath to the summit is not bad, although quite steep.
