Peixe-rei (Coris giofredi)
Coris giofredi, a coastal wrasse with soft but pleasant flesh, caught with rod, peneiro or briqueira.
A fish of the family Labridae that lives close to the coast and feeds on small molluscs, crustaceans and other shellfish. Its flavour is pleasant, although the flesh is rather soft, a characteristic of all species of the same family. It is caught with the rod, the scoop net (peneiro) or the briqueira (a Madeiran hand line for bottom fishing).
