The ornate wrasse (Julis pavo), common on rocky algae-covered coasts, also called cagão.
A fish of the family Labridae, common along the coast, which prefers rocky places covered with algae, where it can find small molluscs, sea urchins, crustaceans and other small hard-shelled animals that it crushes with its strong teeth. Its flesh is somewhat soft, but not unpleasant in flavour. It is also known as cagão.
