Modest monument inaugurated in 1939 in the gardens of the Asilo de Mendicidade e Órfãos to Dr Alexandre da Cunha Teles, benefactor of charitable services.
– On 14 May 1939 a modest but meaningful and well-deserved monument was inaugurated with great solemnity in the gardens of the Poorhouse and Orphanage (Asilo de Mendicidade e Órfãos), to the memory of Dr Alexandre da Cunha Teles, who had rendered that charitable house and various welfare services the most valuable benefits through his devoted zeal, natural selflessness and boundless dedication.
