It ran between the Largo of the College (Colégio) and Rua das Pretas. At its end, in the locality (sítio) now occupied by the Largo da Igrejinha, stood the chapel of Our Lady of Pity (Nossa Senhora da Piedade) – or, as it was commonly called, the Igrejinha (‘little church’) – founded in 1613 by Domingos Rodrigues Garcez and demolished by the Council in 1836.
