A 263 m coastal hill in São Martinho, formerly called Pico do Telégrafo, with fine views over Funchal and its bay.
A mountainous height close to the coast, in the parish (freguesia) of São Martinho (‘St Martin’), about 263 metres high, from which there is a striking view over the seaboard and the amphitheatre of Funchal. A small, recently built road gives easy access to the summit of this peak. Abutting its northern slope is the Funchal rifle range (Carreira de Tiro do Funchal). It was once known as Pico do Telégrafo.
