An inhabited locality in the parish (freguesia) of Machico. Here stands the chapel of São Cristóvão (St Christopher), which the sons of Cristóvão Moniz de Meneses, holder of the entail (morgado), had built in 1690 under a provision of their father’s will that obliged them to do so.

Chronology
  • The chapel of São Cristóvão at Caramanchão, Machico, was built by the children of Cristóvão Moniz de Meneses under his will. The date 1692 is carved on its portico.
