São Paulo was a former locality in Funchal around the chapel of São Paulo, extending to the São João stream. Its street, Rua de São Paulo, ran between the Carreira gate and the stream and is now part of Rua do Dr. Vieira. The Largo and Travessa de São Paulo survive near the chapel.
