Pargo (Pagrus pagrus)

A fish of the Sparidae family, pagrina group, common in the waters of the archipelago. It inhabits the coastal areas and travels along the entire coast of the seabed, preferring rocky bottoms. It is bred near the coast and has great culinary value. It is caught during the day and night using various gear, such as the brigueira, gorazeira, agulheira, rod and net.
