Peixe-cão (Crenilabus caninus)
A bright red wrasse, uncommon in the archipelago, found over rocky bottoms down to about 150 fathoms.
A fish of the family Labridae, uncommon in the waters of the archipelago. Its bright red colour makes it a handsome species; its flavour, however, does not match the beauty of its scales. It prefers rocky bottoms, moving along the coast, and is caught down to about 150 braças.
