Picturesque locality in Santa Cruz parish, also called Vale do Moreno, with a chapel of Nossa Senhora dos Remédios founded in 1690.
An inhabited and picturesque locality (sítio) in the parish (freguesia) of Santa Cruz (‘Holy Cross’), where there is a chapel dedicated to Our Lady of Remedies (Nossa Senhora dos Remédios). It was founded in 1690 by Canon Manuel Ferreira Teixeira and incorporated into the entailed estate (morgadio) of the Barreto family of Santa Cruz; its owner today is Dr Remígio Barreto. This locality is also known as Vale do Moreno.
