Records the 1778 grant by Queen Maria I to the Duke of Lafões of the Order of Christ commandery of Terceira, Madeira and São Miguel.
Queen Maria I, styling herself ‘governor and perpetual administrator of the mastership of knighthood of the Order of Our Lord Jesus Christ’, made a royal grant in 1778 to her uncle Dom João de Bragança, Duke of Lafões, of the commandery of the islands of Terceira, Madeira and São Miguel of the said Order. Funchal Municipal Council (Câmara Municipal do Funchal) took note of this grant, which was ordered to be entered in the appropriate register, on 15 May 1784.
