A Funchal battery handed to the municipality in 1898 and demolished to improve land west of the Praça da Rainha.
It was handed over to the Municipal Council (Câmara Municipal) in March 1898 and demolished by order to improve the land west of the former Praça da Rainha (‘Queen’s Square’), today Praça do Marquês de Pombal (‘Marquis of Pombal Square’). (1921).
