Fajã dos Asnos

A partly cultivated fajã in Câmara de Lobos before Cabo Girão, also called Fajã do Gregório, notable for the rare Helichrysum monizii on its cliffs.

Map: Madeira (3)

It lies in the parish (freguesia) of Câmara de Lobos (‘seals’ den’), on the near side of Cabo Girão, and is also known as Fajã do Gregório. It is partly cultivated, and on the cliffs bounding it to the north Helichrysum monizii grows in abundance, a species hard to find elsewhere on the island.
