Inhabited locality in the parish of Quinta Grande, with the Quinta do Pomar and its chapel of Santo António (1883), a primary school, and a vanished hermitage at Ponta da Quinta.

An inhabited locality (sítio) in the parish (freguesia) of Quinta Grande (‘large estate’). The Quinta do Pomar (‘orchard estate’) lies in this locality, and on it stands a chapel dedicated to St Anthony of Padua, founded by Father António Silvino Gonçalves de Andrade in 1883; there is also a state primary school here. At the spot in this locality known as Ponta da Quinta (‘estate point’) there was once a small chapel dedicated to the Virgin, Our Lady, of which not even a trace now remains.
