The locality (sítio) of this name, in Arco da Calheta (‘arc of Calheta’), has a small landing place, also called Nossa Senhora da Vida, which lies 2.4 miles from the landing place of the town (vila) of Ponta do Sol (‘point of the sun’) and 2.3 miles from that of Calheta (‘small cove’).
