Eira do Serrado
A viewpoint at the top of the Passo da Chave ascent, with a striking view over Curral das Freiras and its mountains.
At the top of the steep ascent of the Passo da Chave (‘key pass’), which leads from the bottom of the settlement of Curral das Freiras (‘nuns’ fold’) to the road towards Funchal, lies the village (lugar, settlement rank below a town) of that name. It offers a surprising view over the parish (freguesia) of Curral and the towering mountains that surround it.
