Drumond de Meneses (Antero)

Antero Drumond de Meneses (1830–1916) was a Funchal-born physician, trained at Montpellier, who served as municipal doctor of Funchal and physician to a mutual-aid association.

He was the son of Servúlo Drumond de Meneses. He was born in Funchal on 1 December 1830 and took the degree of doctor of medicine at the faculty of Montpellier in 1856. He was the salaried municipal doctor of the Funchal Municipal Council (Câmara Municipal do Funchal) and physician to the 4 September 1862 Mutual Aid Association (Associação de Socorros Mútuos 4 de Setembro de 1862). He died in Lisbon on 30 September 1916. Works: L'Etiologie comme source du diagnostic médical, Montpellier, 1856.
