Cumiada Alta
A high ridge above 1,700 metres near Pico Ruivo and the Homem em Pé basalt column, notable for rare plants.
It lies near Pico Ruivo (‘russet peak’), a short distance from the famous column of basalt blocks known as the Homem em Pé (‘standing man’). It stands more than 1700 metres above sea level and is one of the few places where the rare Pyrus Aucuparia and Bunium brevifolium, two rare species of the Madeiran flora, have been found.
