On the coast of the parish (freguesia) of this name there is a small, poor landing place, where an insignificant landing stage was built in 1909.
It is also known as Porto da Lapa. It lies 3 miles from the landing place of Câmara de Lobos (‘seals’ den’) and 1.7 from that of Ribeira Brava (‘wild river’).
