São Jorge quay

The São Jorge quay (1904–10) and the Pedra da Pescaria quay at Faial (1903–05), both by the Junta Geral.

Work on this quay began in 1904 and ended in 1910. It was the District General Council (Junta Geral) that had it carried out.

Pedra da Pescaria (‘fishing rock’) quay, at Faial. It was built on the orders of the same body, from 1903 to 1905. (See Cacongo.)

Chronology
  • The Junta Geral built the Faial quay at Pedra da Pescaria.
  • The Junta Geral built the São Jorge quay at Ponta Gorda, linked by a footpath to the Santana–São Jorge road.
