The flying fish, a teleost fish named for the gliding flights it makes with its pectoral fins to escape predators.
A teleost fish of the family Scombresocidae. The name avoador, or more properly voador (flyer), by which it is known comes from the flights it makes, using its pectoral fins, to escape its enemies in the water.
