Vieira Portuense
The painter Francisco Vieira, known as Vieira Portuense, came to Madeira for his health and died suddenly in Funchal in 1805.
The distinguished painter Vieira Portuense came to this island seeking relief from his ailments and died in Funchal on 2 May 1805. His death record states that he died suddenly in the eating house of Maria Watror and that he was buried in the Cathedral (Sé Catedral).
