Sá
Entry on the Sá surname in Madeira, traced to D. Guiomar de Sá, who married Gaspar Bettencourt.
According to Dr Azevedo, this surname derives from Dona Guiomar de Sá, daughter of Henrique de Sá of Porto or, as some say, of João Rodrigues de Sá, who married Gaspar Bettencourt.
Pedro Gonçalves da Câmara, former owner of the Lombada (of Arco), was married to Dona Joana de Sá, chief lady of the bedchamber to the queen, and it is possible that some of his children, if he had any, took the surname of their mother's family.
