Ponta do Pargo (point)
Original title: Ponta do Pargo (Ponta da)
Ponta do Pargo is the rugged headland forming Madeira's westernmost point, site of the lighthouse.
The westernmost point of Madeira’s coastline is formed by a rugged projection called Ponta do Pargo (‘sea bream point’). This projection of the coast and its immediate surroundings make up a considerable part of that parish (freguesia), and it is there that the lighthouse referred to above stands.
