Forty-three issues of this newspaper appeared, from 2 April 1857 to 30 January 1858. Its editors were João de Sant'Ana e Vasconcelos and Dr Álvaro Rodrigues de Azevedo.

Another newspaper was published under the same title. It ran to twenty-three issues, from 16 June to 22 September 1894.

On 30 April 1897 a newspaper with the same title began publication. It ceased on 13 December 1899, after two hundred and fifty-nine issues had appeared. Its editors were Francisco Gomes de Gouveia Júnior and Father Fernando A. Silva.
