Madeiran physician trained at Montpellier (1837), decorated for cholera service in France, and later municipal doctor of Funchal.
He graduated in 1837 from the faculty of medicine at Montpellier, defending the thesis Etude de l'accouchement premature artificiel, which he printed as a pamphlet of 59 pp.
He rendered notable services in France during an epidemic of cholera morbus, for which he was awarded a medal of honour. In Madeira, where he practised medicine for many years, he was municipal physician to the Funchal Municipal Council (Câmara Municipal do Funchal). He died in 1859 or shortly afterwards.
