Prefecture Council
Original title: Conselho de Prefeitura
Council attached to the provincial prefect, created in 1832 and replaced by the district council under the 1836 code.
It was created by the decree of 6 May 1832 and operated alongside the prefect (prefeito) of the Province. The administrative code of 1836, which created the district council, did away with the old prefecture (prefeitura) council.
