Constitutional Municipal Commission

The commission elected in July 1834 to replace Funchal's councillors appointed under the Miguelist usurpation, serving until October 1834.

On 5 July 1834 the members of the governing body (governança, the notables eligible for municipal office) met in the town hall (Paços do Concelho) to elect a commission to replace the councillors (vereadores) appointed during the usurpation. The citizens elected were: Luís Teixeira Dória, president; Valentim Leal, vice-president; João Francisco de Florença; Luís de Ornelas e Vasconcelos; and Tristão Joaquim Bettencourt da Câmara. This commission held office until 20 October 1834.
