The sea passage between the Ilhéu Vermelho (dos Desembarcadouros) and the Ilhéu de Fora at Ponta de São Lourenço, used by boats and coastal steamers in calm seas.
This is the channel or sea passage between the Ilhéu Vermelho, or Ilhéu dos Desembarcadouros (see that entry), and the Ilhéu de Fora, at Ponta de São Lourenço (‘St Lawrence Point’). In calm seas, the so-called scheduled boats (barcos de carreira) and the coastal steamers often pass through this channel.
