Boca Negra (Sebastes dactylopterus)
A tasty sedentary rockfish caught at 80–250 fathoms, named for its dark mouth lining.
A fish of pleasant flavour of the family Triglidae, caught over rocky bottoms at depths of roughly 80 to 250 braças. It is sedentary and owes its name to the fact that the inside of its mouth is lined with a very dark membrane. The tackle used to catch it is the briqueira (a Madeiran hand line for bottom fishing) and the gorazeira (deep-water longline for sea bream).
